316L SURGICAL STEEL

SS316L is a Surgical implant grade which is the most used material for bodyjewellery. Although they all contain nickel, they do not release nickel salts into the body and do not induce nickel dermatitis. STEGE have laboratory testing certificates on file indicating that our bodyjewellery is safe to come into direct and prolonged with the skin. Most of our bodyjewellery are using with Swarovski crystal unless stated otherwise.

Surgical Steel categorised into four general classes based on composition :2,3,4 and 500 series. most corrosion resistant are 300 series steels used for bone fixation screws, bone plates and many other applications.

Beware of 302 steel that elicit negative reactions in nickel sensitive persons and should be avoid.
